Questions about the IPSCMI Self-certification Program
I have a purchasing/supply chain-related certification that's not listed on the Self-certification Points Form, but I'd like it to count towards the Self-certification Program. What should I do?
It was difficult to include every possible certification on the form, and there are many ways to gain purchasing-related experience and education, so it's quite possible to have earned a certification or designation that was not listed. You can enter your certification on the Self-certification Points Form in the blank marked 'Other'. For each certification, you will earn 20 points.
For some of my purchasing/supply chain experience, my job title doesn't specifically say 'purchasing'. Can this experience count toward IPSCMI certification?
If you can detail your purchasing/supply chain-related duties for that job/post in the Experience section of the application, and as long as we can verify your experience and duties, you should be able to count it towards the Self-certification requirements. If there is not enough information or if more detail is needed, we may contact you. This could delay processing of your application, so we encourage you to be as thorough as possible.
I had a certification (or experience) in the past, but don't have any documentation for it. Can I still count that toward certification?
Unfortunately, undocumented certification or experience would not apply toward the IPSCMI Self-certification program. In order to maintain the integrity of the program, and in fairness to others who have IPSCMI certifications, we would not be able to count it without documentation.
How long does the Self-certification Certification process take?
The Self-certification Application process takes approximately 10 working days, if the application is completed correctly and all supporting documentation is provided. Processing can be delayed for a number of reasons. For example: If the application package is incomplete and has to be returned, if additional documentation has to be requested, if the application or payment is not complete, if the we have to reconstruct an applicant's points that were claimed incorrectly, or if issues are encountered during the verification process. We encourage applicants to be as thorough as possible to avoid delay.
Please explain what type of supporting documentation is required with the application.
Supporting documents usually include educational degree, training certificate, certification, etc.
