1. Why do we have to do needs assessment?
When done properly, needs assessment procedures enable organizations to deliver only needed training and to focus training on solving the problems experienced by the organization.
- in order for employees to do their jobs
- in order for employees to develop their careers
- in order for the organization to carry outs its plans and achieve its operational and financial goals
2. What is a needs assessment? How do you do it?
When there is a gap in an employee’s job performance (or group’s performance) and the cause of the performance gap is probably a lack of knowledge, skill, understanding, or experience, a needs assessment may be in order.
- Identify what knowledge, skills, and or understanding an employee (group) needs to know, do, or solve in order to perform.
- Measure what knowledge, skills, and or understanding an employee (group) currently knows, can do, or solve.
- Compare what knowledge, skills, and or understandings an employee (group) currently knows, can do, or solve to what they need to know, do, or solve. Are there any gaps?
- Determine the training and other strategies needed to “close the gaps”.
3. Why can’t I just tell you what courses I think we need?
If you realize all the problems your employees have encountered, you can probably tell us what courses you think you need. If you can’t perform a need assessment, we will help you find out what you need.
4. Can we do needs assessment over the phone?
TeleConferencing is a possible alternative to face-to-face, but both sides need to prepare extensive and prepare template-based questions.
5. Doesn’t our training manager do needs assessments?
As the third party, our attitude is typically more objective and comprehensive during needs assessment than those of training managers. Training managers often have blind spots and subjective orientations. Also, many training managers are not trained to do needs assessment.
6. What is so special about IPSCMI’s training and certification?
Our certifications are issued and recognized not only in the US and China but also in other countries in the Far East, Europe, and the Middle East. Value provided in IPSCMI training and certification programs is higher than competitors because of higher quality and lower prices.
We have the best instructor team. Most of instructors hold doctorates and have experience teaching non-English students and know their learning styles. Our President, Dr. LeRoy H. Graw has thirty-eight (38)-years of teaching experience in both the public and private sectors.
Our textbooks are the very latest English or local language texts available. IPSCMI generally provides digital or hardcopy Powerpoint lectures to supplement available textual material.
Our certification examinations are all in English with local language “subtitles”. ACI and IPSCMI certification examinations are unique in this respect inasmuch as most other organizations do not “go this extra mile” in providing such examinations. Most other organizations test their candidates only in English.
ALL of our instructors are certified in the discipline they teach.
7. Will you use Chinese or foreign instructors?
It will be decided by client requirements and student’s language skills. If clients have enough training budget and students have certain language skills, senior foreign instructor are often better.
8. How do you conduct your training?
We can use different training techniques to achieve the learning objectives, such as lecture, workshops, group discussion, video, case study and role play, etc. We can also do instruction in several modes, conventional, online, and distance learning. Moreover, we also respect your recommendation.
9. How much does your training cost?
Foreign instructor fee is $1000 per day and Chinese instructor fee is RMB4, 000~5,000 per day (above instructor fees are after tax).
Related transportation fee, meal cost and accommodation fee are considered expenses, normally reimbursed by the client.
10. What results can I expect from your training?
Solve problems and improve employee job skills, build teams, save cost, boost work efficiency, change working attitudes, help organizations reform their systems, benchmark to world-class standards, and improve management styles.
